The Yankee slugger, who ditched his wife of six years, Cynthia, after becoming besotted with Madonna, is a “soul-less” man who is “abandoning” his kids on Thanksgiving for his lover, according to what Cynthia is telling friends.
“Access Hollywood” reports that Cynthia, who’s in the final stages of her divorce from A-Rod, wrote an e-mail to a confidant noting: “My 6-foot-3, 220-pound soul-less, soon-to-be ex-husband is abandoning his kids on Thanksgiving to be with Madonna . . . She called and he ran on her command back to New York City . . . Gross!”
Instead of ushering in the holidays in Miami with his children, Natasha, 4, and Ella, 1 - A-Rod, 33, is hosting a dinner at his Manhattan apartment for Madonna, 50, and her kids, Lourdes, Rocco and David, and manager Guy Oseary.
The friend of Cynthia said A-Rod’s furious ex described Madonna in “not so nice terms” in the e-mail.
To add insult to injury, after Rodriguez left Miami at Madonna’s beck and call, his lawyer called Cynthia and wanted her to sign the couple’s divorce settlement.
Also in the NY Post, Liz Smith defends her friend Madonna while slamming Guy:
Guy Ritchie gets about $70 million. He is not walking away “without a penny.” Please! He was no poor boy picked up from nowhere; so now he has to be compensated to support the life to which he has become accustomed. Guy Ritchie had a name and considerable cash when he and Madonna married. He’s earning about $4 million right now for directing “Sherlock Holmes.” But once you taste the really high life, you hold on if you can.
Should we be surprised by the news that disgraced former New York Eliot Spitzer will not be prosecuted for his crimes? Sadly not.
We have come to expect this “rub my back and I’ll rub yours” treatment of elected leaders, and in fact, we have become somewhat numb to it.
Coincidence that the decision came just two days after the election? You can decide for yourself. I wonder what all the people whose careers he toppled like Dick Grasso are thinking as they hear of this news today.
What’s next for Spitzer? Surely a lucrative book deal to explain what in his childhood or career drove him to abusing his office and patronizing prostitutes. With the help of experts who rebuild soiled brands and reputations, most likely an executive position with a large company, and/or seats on various boards.
What he will never earn back is his dignity or honor.
Business may welcome this “John” back, and I am sure that God will forgive him, but, we are all reminded once again that the system of justice is more one of convenience versus impartiality and objectivity.
